Mango, Banana, Spinach smoothie

This mango, banana and spinach protein smoothie is one of those easy, nourishing staples that works just as well for busy mornings as it does for a post-movement reset. It’s creamy, naturally sweet, and quietly powerful — offering energy, fibre, protein and greens without feeling heavy or complicated.

Using frozen fruit gives it that thick, café-style texture, while almond milk keeps it light and gentle on digestion. The addition of chia seeds and protein powder makes it genuinely sustaining, helping you feel steady and supported rather than rushing on to the next thing.

Think of this smoothie as a small act of self-care you can return to again and again.

Ingredients (1 large smoothie)

  • 1–1½ cups frozen mango, banana & pineapple (mixed)

  • 1 cup almond milk (I use MilkLab)

  • 1 scoop Hemp Foods Australia protein powder

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

  • 1 cup fresh spinach

  • 1–2 tbsp Blue Frog Breakfast granola

  • ½–1 cup filtered water, to loosen

Optional add-ins / sweeteners (to taste):

  • Maple syrup or honey

  • Bee pollen

  • Ground cinnamon

  • Fresh ginger or ginger juice

Method

  1. Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender (Vitamix or similar).

  2. Blend until smooth, thick and creamy.

  3. Adjust with extra water or sweetness if needed, depending on your preference.

  4. Pour into a glass, take a breath, and enjoy.

Notes

  • Frozen fruit creates a thick, creamy texture without the need for ice.

  • Almond milk keeps the smoothie light and dairy-free.

  • Chia seeds add fibre and help naturally thicken the blend.

  • Granola adds subtle texture and helps make the smoothie more filling.

  • This is a balanced smoothie, providing carbohydrates, protein, fibre and greens to support steady energy.

Mindful Moment

Before you take your first sip, pause for just a few seconds. Notice the colour of the smoothie, the coolness of the glass in your hands, and the gentle sweetness of the aroma.

As you drink, slow it down slightly. Let this be a moment of nourishment rather than something to rush through. Tuning into how your body responds — the satisfaction, the steadiness, the fullness — is a simple way to practise mindful eating, even with something as quick as a smoothie.

These small pauses are where reconnection begins.
